The 2025 2nd International Conference on Sustainable Development and Energy Resources Successfully Concluded
On August 2, the 2025 2nd International Conference on Sustainable Development and Energy Resources (SDER 2025) was held at the Shangjin International Hotel in Shenzhen and The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen. The event brought together over 150 experts and scholars to discuss the latest research achievements and future trends in the field.

The conference was hosted by the Energy Institute for Carbon Neutrality, Southern University of Science and Technology, organized by the Institute of Innovative Technology for Green-Low Carbon Energy, Harbin Institute of Technology, Shenzhen and the AEIC Academic Exchange Information Center, and co-organized by the Institute of Urban Underground Space and Energy Studies (IUSE) at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen, State Key Laboratory of Photovoltaic Materials and Cells at Nankai University, Guangzhou Institute of Energy Conversion at Chinese Academy of Sciences, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and Sun Yat-sen University. It also received strong support from the Shenzhen Industry-University-Research Institute Collaboration Association

The opening ceremony was chaired by Asst. Prof. Dongxu Ji from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen. Prof. Mingming Zhang, Director of Institute of Innovative Technology for Green-Low Carbon Energy, Harbin Institute of Technology, Shenzhen, delivered the opening address.
Keynote Speeches
During the keynote session, Prof. Tianshou Zhao, Dean of the Energy Institute for Carbon Neutrality, Southern University of Science and Technology; Prof. Mingming Zhang, National Leading Talent, National Excellent Young Scientist, and Director of Institute of Innovative Technology for Green-Low Carbon Energy, Harbin Institute of Technology, Shenzhen; Prof. Bernd R. Noack, Chief Scientist at the Guangdong Province VTOL Manufacturing Innovation Center, Director at the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Aera Low Altitude Economy Research Institute Professor, and Distinguished Professor at Shenzhen University; and Researcher Zhen Huang, National Young Top-Notch Talent and recipient of the Guangdong Youth Innovation in Science and Technology Award from the Guangzhou Institute of Energy Conversion, Chinese Academy of Sciences, shared insights on critical topics such as energy storage, wind energy, the low-altitude economy, and biomass energy. Their presentations showcased cutting-edge academic achievements and provided in-depth professional perspectives.
The conference featured seven specialized sessions focusing on wind energy, solar energy, biomass energy, energy storage, geothermal energy, hydrogen energy, and the low-altitude economy. A total of 73 experts and scholars were invited to deliver keynote, invited, and oral presentations on these subtopics. To recognize outstanding contributions, the conference awarded prizes for excellent oral presentations, encouraging continued innovation in the field of sustainable development and energy resources.
SDER 2025 provided a high-level academic exchange platform for global scholars, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration in sustainable development and energy resources. The outcomes of the conference will inject new momentum into green energy technology innovation and industrial upgrading, contributing to the realization of the "dual-carbon" goals.
